To help them out, I made a little "cumulative review" activity packet.
To begin, we review how to make each sound using these cards that describe the movement of the mouth, placement of the tongue, etc.
We have also been incorporating some games into the mix so we can practice reading lots of different words, while still recognizing which rule they follow.
My kids really struggle with the long /u/ sounds because there are two and they are a little tricky to blend. Sometimes I'll just pull out all the short and long /u/ words and we'll just focus on them for a session.
