Who's ready for SPRING?!?
I know this girl is pumped for warmer weather!
A few years ago, if you would have told me I would be using age appropriate picture books in my autism classroom to work on retelling, sequencing, key details, and comprehension questions, I would have thought you were a coo coo bird! This school year, it was my mission to get my students into the routine of reading a picture book, retelling using a story map, and answering basic "wh" questions. I began creating my visual story time packs to help me stay in this routine and the response from my students has been amazing! Here is a peek at what the story map looks like.
Also, here is a picture of the comprehension questions posted on the promethean board. The no print option is amazing! Especially for teachers who don't have a ton of extra time for prep (Ahem -- every teacher out there).
If you don't already own one of my story time packs, below is a little freebie for you to check them out for yourself! Groundhog Day is such a fun day to celebrate!
